Mixer returns to cold setting when flow is turned off
BY arranging for the temperature control to return automatically to the cold setting when the flow control is turned off, the makers of the Supamix shower mixer claim to prevent scald- ing from a surge of hot water when the valve is turned on again.

the blue-grey cen- tre one controlling the flow, the white outer one the tem- perature. Separate plungers control the hot and cold water, and the centre knob oper- ates both plungers together, withdraw- ing them to in- crease the flow, depressing them to restrict it.
The outer knob adjusts the tem- perature by vary- ing the relative positions of the plungers to admit proportionate amounts of hot and cold water. When the inner knob is turned to the "off" position it over- rides the outer, adjusting the plungers to the cold setting. The Supamix çan be fitted as an exposed mixer, as a concealed mixer on a recessed wall plate, or in a panel for prefabricated shower cubicles. In each case it may have either a fixed riser or flexible tube and hand spray.

Range of mercury vapour fixtures by Day - Brite
INDUSTRA mercury vapour fixtures made by the Day-Brite Lighting Division of Emerson Electric Co., 5411 Bulwer Avenue, St. Louis, Mo., USA, are offered in 175, 250, 400 or 1,000 watt models, in single or twin luminaires.
There are 13 different reflector shapes and sizes ranging from 14% in. to 221⁄2 in. diameter, in aluminium or porcelain finishes.

power packs on the luminaires are exceptionally light weight, yet strong. They open like a hinged door, pro- viding direct access to splice compart- ment, wiring, and fuse. Ballast com- ponents can be separately replaced.
Another maintenance benefit is the open design of the fixtures, which are engineered to minimize dirt accumula- tion through a chimney (up-draft) effect. Fast installation is possible with die-cast insert threads on a 3⁄4 in. pipe hanger. The power pack merely slips on, and automatically locks in place.

URINALS
British glass fibre units made in Hong Kong
GLASS fibre sanitary equipment is now being produced in Hong Kong by Rainbow Glass Fibre Products Ltd., 57 Peking Road, Room 1403, Kow- loon, under licence from the British manufacturers, Sovereign-Beron Ltd.
The range includes slab, single stall and bowl urinals, all one-piece mould- ings with a gloss exterior. The rein- forced polyester resins used produce an opaque material which is imper- vious to urine and is said to be as strong as mild steel, having a flexural and tensile strength of about 25,000 p.s.i.
The slab urinal is supplied to the precise length required, ready for installation. It is grouted into a pre- pared channel in the floor and screw- ed to the rear wall through sparge pipe retaining brackets.

resin bonded to the rear of the unit, the centre of which is positioned 41⁄2 in. from the edge and provides a fixing for the additional brackets used to secure the sparge pipes. The face of the slab is carefully drilled on this centre line to the depth of the glass, in respect of the sparge brackets and completely through the unit for wall fixing.
Tread tiling or similar flooring material is normally laid over lip flange at the top of the trough giving the final finish to the installation.
L-shaped and U-shaped units are also being made as one piece mould- ings.

Its motor develops 1⁄2 h.p. which is sufficient for all attachments including heavy sanding with a 6 in. disc. The motor gear box unit is enclosed in an insulated casing and the spindle of the 3/8 in. chuck is insulated in case a power cable is accidentally drilled.
Air from the motor cooling system blows away swarf. The gear box is sealed for life. Distributors are re- quired in S.E. Asia.
