floor above approached by separate service staircase. The main approach to both apartments is through a common en- trance porch with a staircase leading to the upper floors. Each apartment consists of living room, dining alcove, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, ample closets and boxrooms, pantry- kitchen, one-car garage with two servants rooms above. The floor plan shows the central unit which is flanked on either side by identical units, each stepped back, so that greater privacy is provided.

Ground floor apartments each have a large private lawn with terrace and porch off the living room, whilst verandahs

are provided for the upper apartments. An unusual feature of the upper apartments is the sloping ceiling of the living room, making possible a clerestory window on the fireplace wall which will catch the prevailing breezes from the cast.

General treatment is very similar to that of Lot No. 7, with stucco walls relieved by the projecting mass of fireplace wall which will be in roughly dressed granite inside and out. Large projecting canopies will protect all openings and are a feature of all the houses on the estate.
