This development opens up a choice residential area with magnificent views and good prevailing breezes. To obtain access to the building sites an approach road, approximately 2000'0", has had to be laid and stormwater drains, sewers and public services laid on.

The property was acquired by the Metropolitan Construc- tion Co., Ltd.

Site formation and layout of the project as a whole is the joint effort of Mr. Hugh Braga of the Metropolitan Construc- tion Co. and the Architectural Department of the Metropolitan Land Co. Mr. Emmanuel Gran, formerly of Davies, Brooke & Gran and now associated with Mr. L. David in New York, acted as consultant on some of the individual projects. The layout of main approach roads and individual lots provides for a maximum number of choice lots on the south side of the main approach road, and most sites have the benefit of the magnificent views to the south-west, and the more restricted lots overlook the Repulse Bay area. The property has been divided into 15 lots of varying sizes, all exceeding 20,000 sq. ft.

The main road of the estate and approaches to each site have already been formed and stormwater and sewerage sys- tems laid. A transformer house has been erected on Lot No. 11, and the Hong Kong Electric Co. are installing here a special transformer for the estate and underground cable will supply all lots from this point.

In order to lend variety to the project various types of residential structures have been planned of different sizes and layout to conform with the contours of the lots as much as possible. Site formation work on the various lots have been kept to the minimum and and the buildings have been designed to fit into the various natural contours.

Construction of one large residence on Lot No, 8 has been completed, and this building is described in detail together with photographs and plans on pages 46 & 47.

Construction work has commenced on Lots Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10, and plans are being prepared for the structures on the other lots, The Architectural Department of the Metropolitan Land Co. are responsible for the design of all buildings on the estate.
