On one side of the first floor there will be built two dormitories for the twenty-six firemen and six drivers and ambulance men who will form the personnel of the Station. On the other side of the rectangle will be locat- ed the bathrooms, with the sitting rooms at the far end of the floor.
The sitting rooms will lead out to a large verandah at the back; while a small balcony will overlook Hennessy Road.

All windows in the building will be protected by projecting concrete hoods; and all partitioning will be carried out in light patented blocks.
Direct communication from all upper floors with the appliance-room will be by means of sliding poles.
The building, when completed, will be 54 feet high, inclusive of the flat roof, and will occupy a site measur- ing 133 feet by 78 feet 6 inches. There will be a 6-foot driveway in Hennessy Road.
