Finally I wish to quote from an article in an American magazine under the title "Now Architecture Has A New Client”: “Most architects are familiar with problems of modern techiques and design, but a third factor now shapes many of our build- ings, INVESTMENT MONEY, and it is time the profession took account of it." What came out of an A.I.A. convention in Dallas, Texas, in 1962 on this subject is of interest.
1. The architect faces an entirely new kind of enterpriser. He is of iater vintage than the corporate client. and tougher.

2. Out of this enterpriser. 'entrepreneur“. the architect must somehow shape a client. This too is tougher tougher than shaping a building for a client who already is one?

3. The architect also faces situation in which his traditional area of work-planning, design and supervision may represent an ever diminishing factor in his total product.
4. Expanded knowledge and ex- panded services may therefore be in no sense an "extra" but only the for- tification of the job.
5. The architect's biggest pro. blem may lie in his own bailiwick. Can he "expand" his services without compromising his art and his ways of getting things done?

SHORT course of six lectures in building will be held at the Hong Kong Technical College this month.
The course, the first of its kind, is primarily intended for quantity surveyors. but should sufficient de- mand exist. further courses for all interested
in the subject of build- ing costs will be arranged.
Mr. Robert M. Jordan. A.R.I.C.S.. of the Design Group. Ministry of Public Building and Works, will be the lecturer.

H. K. CROWN LAND SALES
VER 21 acres of Crown land will be offered for sale in 69 lots by the Hong Kong Government in the City Hall auction room during April. May and June.
Twenty of the lots are for residential purposes, with another 21 lots for either residential or commercial use.
The lots, varying is size from 2.695 square feet to 43,870 square feet, are in varying parts of the Colony, with 39 of them in Kwung Tong and eight in San Po Kong.
Plans showing the location of the lots to be sold are on display at the Crown Lands and Survey Offices in Hong Kong and Kowloon.
