The Tengku took a keen personal interest in the design of the mosque. and was present at its opening in August last year by the Yang di- Pertuan Agong. He suc ceeded in preserving the basic fea- tures of traditional Muslim architer- ture while giving the whole a force- ful. uncluttered appearance.
