THE TEN-STOREYED M$I mil- lion Foh Chong Building in Johore Bahru facing the Straits of Johore was opened at the end of March by H.H. Sultan Ibrahim of Johore.
It is owned by Foh Chong & Sons, Ltd., a leading Johore firm of estate suppliers which also deals in building materials, chemicals and hardware.
Head of this firm is Mr. Siow Wan Heong, 59, who is assisted by his five sons.
The Foh Chong Building, named after the firm, stands 112 feet high and commands an excellent view of the Straits of Johore and nearby Singapore.
Building operations began 1
years ago.
Each of the ten floors is 10 feet 6 inches in height and all are served by a lift.
Ground and first floors are used by Malayan Banking Ltd., which also has use of the 6th floor.
Modern offices occupy the other floors which have been let out to Singapore and Federation business firms.
The 7th to 10th floors have been taken up by the Sky Hotel and Restaurant

Each floor is finished in mosaic tiling while terrazzo has been used on the first floor for Malayan Bank- ing Ltd.
Exterior of the building is finish- ed in polished black marble.
