30-foot high fleche rising from the slightly raised roof, reminiscent of Indian architecture. The fleche is of anodised aluminium and was made in Hong Kong by local craftsmen from a design drawn in Japan.

At the request of local Hindu residents, an individual cremator has been placed inside the Hindo pavilion and marble plaques bearing commenorative inscriptions from the old burning ghat at Sookunpoo have been set in the walls.

Also on the middle level are the main furnace room (25 feet by 88 feet), a transfer room, lobby, view- ing room, crypt, columbarium and toilet facilities.

Approach to the Christian chapel on the upper level is dominated by a single 27-ton rock, found on the site and used as the main support to the covered entrance

to

the chapel. Inside, teak has been used for the pulpit, pews and a large cross mounted behind the altar; this
