UNEVEN SITE WAS MAJOR PROBLEM IN HONG KONG HOME FOR AGED

N his design for a Home for the Aged, now being erected for the Little Sisters of the Poor at Deep- water Bay, Hong Kong, the major problem the architect had to solve was occasioned by the extremely uneven nature of the 4 acre site.

Economy was a major factor. Yet in some places it was necessary to cut down the site as much as 30 feet, and in others filling-in was required. At the same time it was necessary to secure a formation suited to the needs of old people.
