During the period of reconstruction which followed, difficulties were experi- enced in obtaining spares and equipment from suppliers in the United Kingdom, and such difficulties continue even now. For example No. 15 Boiler ordered in October 1946 was promised for delivery in December 1947 but was not on load until August 1950, No. 16 Boiler order- ed August 1948 for February 1951 was not on load until July 1952, No. 17 Boil- er ordered June 1950 for December 1952 took load at the end of 1953.
Orders for Turbines had also been con- siderably delayed. No. 9
No. 9 Turbine order- ed in April 1946 for September 1947 was not on load until October 1949, whilst No. 10 set ordered in October 1947 was not on load until December 1951. No. I set ordered in November 1950 for de- livery in June 1952 was not completed until March 1955.
