The new San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge spans five miles of water. 10,000 vehicles crossed it on the opening day. 50,000 lbs. of aluminium paint, made with the new aluminium paint pigment, were used to beautify and protect it.
"Alpaste" is the new aluminium paint pigment made in paste form. In comparison with aluminium paint made with powder, it gives 10-20% greater covering power, a smoother finish and greater opacity. "Alpaste" is extremely durable and is an effective resistant to moisture, smoke and corrosive fumes.
