Construction

A

Walls are of roughly squared and coursed granite, plastered internally. Projecting canopies have been pro- vided over windows to give protection from showers when the windows are open. The first floor is of timber and the flat roof is of hollow block concrete construction. plentiful water supply is available from a stream, which runs throughout the dry season, and advantage has been taken of this to provide a fountain in the garden, and also for flooding the roof during hot weather. The roof of the garage block is of Chinese tiles and traditional design.

Finishes

Ground floor-teak parquet or tiles on concrete. First floor-teak boarding.

Windows--teak.

Internal walls are plastered throughout and colour

washed.

The building was designed by Mr. John F. Howorth of
