WASTE PIPES

Polypropylene bath traps occupy less depth

a

Two recent additions to the Bartol polypropylene waste system, a deep- seal combination bath trap and shallow-seal bath trap, are designed to occupy less depth and to make clean- ing easier. Both employ push-fit O- ring pipe connections and compres- sion fittings that can be used with iron or copper piping.

The combination trap is produced in two sizes, 14 in. and 11⁄2 in. in diameter, both of which provide a 3 in. seal. Two plastic nuts are located each side of the base, either one of which can be used for cleaning, the other forming a 4 in. overflow-pipe connection. The latter can be match-

specific connection-boss: otherwise, it is supplied with a blank- ing off nut.

On the shallow-seal trap, the posi- tion of the cleaning nut is offset so that it projects to the rear, rather than below the base, reducing the overall depth of seal to only 3⁄4 in. Available only in a 1 in. size, this trap is designed for replacement or conversion applications where space is limited.

CLADDING

Mosaic of stainless

steel tiles

AN unusual form of mosaic clad- ing. Uginox Mosametal, is being pro- duced by C.I.D.E.. 83 rue de Reuilly Paris (12e). It consists of small rectangular or square stainless-steel tiles stamped out in various ridged or pyramidal relieved shapes.

When laid in regular designs, the mosaic gives the impression of an un- broken. patterned sheet of stainless- steel. However, unlike a rigid panel, the tiles are supplied in flexible. plastic-mounted sheets, which can easily be fitted on curved surfaces. round columns. etc. The mosaic depends for its effect on the play of
