In addition to the comprehensive range of the As- sociation's own publications which includes advisory booklets, research reports, technical reports, transla- tions, bibliographies, books and abstracts, the catalogue gives comprehensive information on publications deal- ings with all aspects of concrete which are published by other bodies and can be obtained from the Associa- tion.

Wind tunnel tests aid

city planners

AERODYNAMIC tests in a wind tunnel to aid city planners in designing an urban renewal area in the cen- tre of Stockholm are at present being carried out by FFA, the Swedish Aeronautical Research Institute.

A large model of the area has been placed in the tunnel. The location of the buildings and streets is then tested in relation to the winds much in the same fashion as an aircraft would be.

The aim of tests of this type is to provide city planners with basic information on how winds effect a certain area and what they bring with them in terms of air pollution and noise, FFA says.
