Typical floor plan
The number of apartment blocks that have been erected in Hong Kong in the past few years must be quite considerable and, although the design in most cases has followed a rather set pattern, there are many instances of buildings which stand out from the rest because of well-balanced and pleasant detailing.
The building illustrated on this page is a block of flats en I.L. 609 R.P., No. 7B Babington Road, designed by the Architect, Mr. Li Hin Lung.
The planning of the first, second and third floors is practically identical, the variations consisting of minor re-

arrangement of sliding doors and covered areas to conform with the requirements of the individual tenants.
The two living rooms in the third floor have been altered from the typical floor plan in that the balcony has been enclosed with metal windows and the original front wall omitted to increase the sitting room area considerably.
The fourth floor plan, because of the setback, is consider- ably smaller and becomes in effect two penthouse apartments with large roof gardens formed by the roof of the projecting apartments below.
The general contractors for the building were Messrs. Lam Woo & Co.
