An interesting feature of the air- conditioner compressors is the mag- netic oil cleaning, carried out by two powerful permanent magnets on the inside of the oil drain plugs, which pick metallic particles out of the oil in order to safeguard the bearings and other moving parts. This feature combined with a highly effective lu- brication system, which also includes the regular oil filter and strainer, greatly reduces wear and helps to insure long and trouble free compressor life. Another point of some interest is the ease of main- tenance of this plant; every moving part that is subject to wear can be replaced easily, even cylinder sleeves when necessary, without removing the compressors from their bases or
foundations.
