it incor- porates a heater. Provision has been made for the office floors to be cen- trally air-conditioned at a later date if required.

The wiring installation was carried out by The China Engineers. Ltd., using Johnson & Phillips, C.M.A. grade cables throughout, and Stella Galvanized conduits for concealed wiring in most parts of the Mercan- tile Bank. The electrical load is made up as follows: approximately 950 lighting points, approximately 155 general power points, 160 h.p. for the lifts, 60 h.p. for the pumps, and 80 h.p. for the air-conditioning plant.
