known land-mark in London's West End will be the tallest building in Europe.

At High Level:-A revolving restaurant which rotates full circle every 30 minutes, a cocktail lounge and look-out gallery.

The podium rises to the 80 ft. level and provides accommodation for the G.P.O. administrative staff.

The tower consists of a concrete tube, from which floors are extended out-

wards.

Fifteen of the first 17 floors contain instruments requiring a constant tem- perature and protection from solar rays. This is achieved by a triple system of Hopes curtain wall 50 ft in diameter externally in stainless steel glazed with heat absorbing glass; internally in anodized aluminium, sliding horizontal- ly for access to vertical aluminium sunbreakers pivoting in unison between the two.

The cleaning of exterior glass will be carried out by power operated clean. ing cradle which runs in bronze guides housed in the mullion construction,
