80,000 square feet of FLOAT have been used in the glazing of the new Vickers House on Millbank-London's tallest office building. The architects were Ronald Ward & Partners.
FLOAT
-the new glass of true clarity
Increased production has made supplies of FLOAT GLASS readily available. Because of this and because FLOAT is the new structural glass of true clarity, it is now being used to glaze buildings throughout the world.
The invention of the FLOAT process is acknowledged to be this century's greatest advance in glassmaking tech- niques. The result of a 7-year, £4 million Pilkington Development Project, FLOAT is a glass with a brilliant fire finish on both sides, plus perfectly parallel faces. Vision is therefore completely undistorted.
FLOAT GLASS is now in commercial production and it can be obtained in 4" thickness in sizes up to 98" x 175" through the usual trade channels.
Supplies are immediate whenever they are wanted.

HOW FLOAT IS MADE. In the FLOAT process the continuous ribbon of glass passes from the furnace to float on the surface of molten metal at a controlled temperature. It emerges perfectly flat and distortion- free with a brilliant lustrous finish on both sides.
