(b) Construction of a new top floor including canteen, kitchen. air con- ditioning plant room and lift engine room at roof level. (c) Provision of new lavatories, a new supply system and C.E.B. sub. station.

(3) Stage 2: (a) Renovation of the existing building, rewiring. demolition of existing windows, renovation of elevations, construc- tion of office partitions, ceilings, etc. (b) Provision of a new lift and lift shaft. installation of air condition. ing plant and equipment for two upper floors. Alterations to main staircase. interior alterations.

The renovated building contains: Printing office and distribution section on the lower ground floor. Reception, showcases and C.E.B. sub-station on ground floor. Pro duction and processing department on the first floor. Editorial staff and offices second and third floors, both air-conditioned.

The office floors consist of a 46 ft. x 105 ft. central office with pri vate offices, libraries, etc. grouped along the sides, partitioned off with glass and plywood panels.

Floor-to-ceiling glass panels in steel framing at the front of the offices admit the maximum possible daylight, and are screened with ver- tical adjustable anodised aluminium sunbreakers, manufactured and in- stalled by Diethelm & Co., Ltd. All office floors are finished in Vinyl tiles.

The lift is finished in polished stainless steel for car, landing doors and architraves, made by Schindler. Consulting Engineers: Steen Sehest- ed & Partners.
