On the north-west part of the site was a house occupied by the Managing Direc- tor of Mackinnon Mackenzie, which was originally erected before the second World War. It was badly damaged during the the older building. Japanese occupation and rebuilt to the designs of Messrs. Leigh & Orange in 1947- It was decided to build a second house on a knoll at the southern end of the site.
The property is overlooked on the east by the Admiralty Flats, while magnificent views are to be had towards the south
