The area fronting Farm Road between the main office building and the exist- ing To Kwa Wan Health Office will be divided by a narrow three storey build- ing in its centre leaving two large yards on either side. One of these will be used for a stores dump by the Roads Office and the other for a similar purpose

Thr "T" shaped extension to the north end of this building serves to enclose the two yards, and will contain the lavatories and wash rooms for coolies and fitters, and at the extreme ends, a combined gate-house and record room for the respective store- keepers. This arrangement will enable each department to control the movement into and out of their respective yards and thus be able to accept full respon- sibility for equipment and stores handled therein.
