Also included in the building are a staff common room, an administration office and a room for the caretaker.

Internal communication is effected by a timber covered way supported by galvanized pipe columns; this covered way affords protection from inclement weather yet still allows ample lighting and cross ventilation for all parts of the building.

The building is designed on the basis of obtaining the maximum facilities at the lowest possible cost, while at the same time taking full advantage of the vast area avail- able.

All bearing walls are built of granite blocks. The front part of the build- ing, comprising the administration section and the library, has a lower ceiling height, with flat roofs

of reinforced concrete. All the class- rooms and the assembly hall have pitched roofs of asbestos cement sheets on timber roof trusses.

The floors of the staff common room and the office are paved with cement tiles, while the rest of the building has cement rendered floors. The assembly hall stage is of timber construction.
