Marco Polo Restaurant

Designed by Walter Marmorek & Lionel Weaver, F/A.R.I.B. A. (London) in collaboration with the Hongkong Engineering and Cons- truction Co., Ltd.

An interesting addition to the ameni ties of life in the Colony is the luxurious new Marco Polo restaurant, lounge and bar, situated in the base- ment of the Peninsula Court Building.

It has a novel and appropriate theme throughout its elaborate decor-- the fabulous adventures of that most famous of early visitors to the Orient from whom it takes its name. Since the modern hotel above caters chiefly to Western travellers, the emphasis placed on this centuries-old link is singularly fitting.

When the Peninsula Court (H.K. & F.E. Builder, Vol. 12, No. 6) was originally designed by Mr. Faitfone Wong, architect, of the Hongkong
