There are no inside columns throughout the structure except those required for the tower, despite the fact that the width of the building is about thirty feet for most of its length and its height about seventy feet. Because of this elimination of internal obstructions and the placing of win- dows on both sides, all classrooms are bright, airy and spacious. Those used for special purposes are extreme- ly well-equipped, as will be seen from the accompanying illustrations.
The Chapel will seat about 300 people and is of simple, straightfor- ward conception. At its north end is the sacristy and living quarters for the priest.
Outside the building, the space en- closed by the blocks and the drive- ways in front of them is sufficient to allow a large expanse of grass and gardens.
Incidentally, the place where this new school has been built is the site of the original "Blue Pool," long ago filled in and forgotten by all except very old residents of the Colony.
The existence of this area of soft fill came as an unpleasant surprise
