The plan accompanying this article shows clearly the generous size and convenient arrangement of the rooms with the numerous large built-in closets for clothes and linen dis- posed throughout the various bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own private bath, the walls of which are tiled with cream ceramic tiles and the floors with green mosaics. There is a study attached to the master bedroom.

The impression of modernism is conveyed by the tinting of walls and ceilings of all rooms with the same soft neutral monotone throughout, the relief being supplied by the panelled finish of the ceiling, and the colour by the judicious choice of contrasting colours for drapes, carpets and upholstery.

In the living room, for instance, the modern fireplace, in which Breccia Aurora and Green Genoa marbles have been combined, is the only structural relief. The lemon yellow covers to the overstuffed chesterfield pieces with deep green

covered occasional pieces lend colour and originality to the decoration.

In the dining room, the central theme is a very large fireplace of modernistic design of the same marbles as the living room. Contrary to most modern fireplaces which have little or no shelf space, the architects have embodied a massive shelf which lends a touch of bizarreness to the otherwise conservative decor. The usual bulky side-boards which are sometimes a feature of formal dining rooms have been replaced by 4" concrete slabs faced with green marble and surmounted by bevelled mirrors. These give a very pleasing impression of spaciousness combined with simplicity.

The study in the mezzanine, previously referred, with its own bathroom attached, has a colour scheme of rust-red attractively toned with figured drapes to windows, solid covers to chairs and couch, and carpet of different shades of this restful hue.
