EW Henry House, a 14 storey office building being erected in Central District, Hong Kong, incor- porates several outstanding features.
They include.--
The use of special concrete high tensile steel and precast concrete boxes to give a beamless floor and standardised column structure.
The completion of each floor in six days as against the normal time of nine days.
The unique method of fixing precast concrete sunshades.
An air cooled air conditioning system. This will be the first time in Hong Kong a large building will be cooled this way.
New Henry House will replace the already demolished Kwok Man House and the existing Henry House. The project being carried out for Henry G. Leong Estates Ltd., will cost an estimated $9 million, includ- ing demolition and sitework.
Work is being done in two stages on adjacent sites of the same size. The first stage, on the site of Kwok Man House, will contain four lifts, air-conditioning plant and will cost
