A View from the model of east elevation.
the owner might plan. The extensive porch verandah. which runs almost the entire length of the west side of both the dining room and living room, with access to it by means of wide French windows, leads out to the ex- tensive grounds and completes the planning of the ground floor in its relation to social amenities.
There are five bedrooms on the two upper floors, the first floor containing three bedrooms including the two principal ones, each being complete with its own
bathroom, clothes closet and verandah. A workroom and pantry for the convenience of the occupants are built off the main hallway. Only two bedrooms are provided on the top floor, the rest of the area forming an ex- tensive roof terrace. Forming part of this floor, but entirely separated from it, are the servants' quarters with separate stairway lead- ing up from the ground floor.
It is difficult to give a description of the appearance of the building as the photographs illustrating this article were taken of a model constructed with dark Masonite, but the dig- nity of the design, relieved by such embellish- ments as the elliptical bay window off the dining room, the vertical lines of which are emphasized by the heavily moulded piers, the hip roof surmounting the second floor accommodation and the angled verandah lines, insure that the appearance of the building will be a most attractive one and will embody elements of unusual effectiveness that is so evident in all the work of the architect, Mr. G. Van Wylick.
The General Contractors are Messrs. Mei Hon Co., Jardine Engineering Corp., Ltd. are doing the wiring for light and power while Weaver & Co. are supplying the steel windows.
