The foundations are reinforced concrete square footings under each column, generally excavated to a depth of 6 ft.

Floor finishes are hardened cement screed but mosaic tiles are provided for the lavatory floors and Colocron colour cement finish for the assembly hall and canteen floors.

Two large lifts of 5,200 lb. capacity each and taking one whole class of students at a time, serve the fourth and sixth floors.

Cost

The school, which took 12 months to construct, cost S$434,315.83. This sum includes the electrical sub-con- tract of S$24,490.74 and lifts installa. tion of S$76,099.39, but excludes land cost.

The main contractor was Lip Seng Construction Ltd.
