Her overall length is 225 feet, her extreme breadth 35' 6" and her gross
1-1/2". The main entrance will be on the north side of the building from Gloucester Road, with a secondary entrance from Jaffe Road.
On the ground floor with direct ac- cess to the praya, there will be a shipwright's workshop, an engineer- ing workshop. victualling and cloth- ing stores, and a boatswain's store. To the rear of these will be a large drill hall with an adjoining armoury. The workshops on this floor will serve the dual purpose of providing training for the tradesmen's branches in the Force and at the same time carry out care and maintenance of small craft and equipment belonging to the R.N.V.R.
The drill hall will be almost 60 feet by 40 feet, and will have a movable teak platform at its east end. Slid- ing folding doors on each side of the hall will lead to open yards.
The next floor will contain two com- munal lecture rooms for the use of the various services occupying the building, as well as various stores. The front lecture room will be approxim- ately 39 feet by 21 feet, while that at the back will be slightly smaller. Part of the drill hall will extend up into the first floor.
The second floor will be used as offices by the Civil Aid Services. It will contain waiting and enrolment rooms, a correspondence office, an office for accounts' clerks, and offices for the Chief Staff Officer, the Train- ing Officer and a Staff Officer.
