to give free access over the whole pool precincts which is essential for families at least.
The main entrance to the pool will be from Yan Kit Road at the point where the old railway crosses this road. There will be a further approach to this entrance from the cul-de-sac streets abutting onto this area and a separate entrance at the other end of the pool precinct (children's end). This latter en- trance will also be approached down steps from Yan Kit Road and up steps from the children's playground which will also have access from the
cul-de-sac streets and (through a small park layout) from Cantonment Road. An area adjoining the main entrance will be covered over with a concrete canopy for the benefit of people awaiting the next period.
A feature differing from Mt. Emily will be separate children's changing rooms adjoining the entrance to the pool.
The men's changing room will be planned in terraces on the hillside overlooking the pool and, with plan- ting of shrubs and flowers on this hillside, a most pleasant effect should be obtained.
Or the plateau on the crest of the cutting, provision is made for a covered cycle shelter and a park for a few cars.
The approximate cost of the project IS in the vicinity of $400,000.00 and includes for all works required for provision of the pools and buildings, but excluding the cost of providing the children's playground and surroundings and the paddling pool which it is sug gested can more properly be provid ed out of the annual allotment for Development of parks and open
spaces.
