NUSUAL feature of Bernard

College, which is situated at the junction of Tat Chee Avenue and Dianthus Road, Yau Yat Chuen, Kowloon, Hong Kong, is an open air amphitheatre which serves as a dramatic and interesting assembly area in place of the more usual indoor assembly hall.

This unusual feature in fact has served two purposes. On the western side the site is indented by the head of the valley in which the Fa Hui playing field is situated. The more usual way of coping with the pro- blem set by this lie of the land would have been to build an expensive retaining wall. The amphitheatre has
