WISE BUILDING PLANNERS in Hong Kong and Kowloon make sure of this by asking the HONG KONG WELL-BORING AND ENGINEERING COMPANY to

sink a well to provide copious supplies for their manufacturing processes, for washing and clean- ing, and for sanitary purposes.

The Colony's rocky sub-soil pre- sents special problems to the well sinker, but all difficulties are over- come by the machines designed and made by Mr. Chung Hing Yan and used by the Company.

The new machines can:

Bore wells with diameters from

4 inches to 12 inches;

Reach a depth of 300 feet to

400 feet and;

Supply 60,000 gallons to 70,000 gallons of water every 24 hours.

Seventy per cent of the big buildings which must have a 24-hour-a-day water supply rely
