The apartments themselves consist of four rooms. of which two are bedrooms with one bathroom common to both. and a living-room and dining-room combined into an L-shaped area in which a number of built-in features have been incor- porated.

The living-room itself is 22′0′′ x 15'0" and the dining- room 110′′ x 15'0". but these dimensions have been further enlarged by the incorporation of a corridor space as part of A large fireplace, which practically covers

the two roonis.

one wall of the living-room, with a built-in bookcase, provides the main interest.

The lot on which this building stands. being somewhat steep, the architect has provided lawn area on three different levels, with a 10'0" difference in elevation between each. and joined by rustic steps. This enables a greater total of lawn area to be provided than would be possible if they were all combined on one level. but the main advantage is that the garden area is far more attractive and far more interesting to stroll through.

The architect for this apartment building is Mr. K. Smith- Mitchell of the Architectural Department of the Metropolitan Land Co. Ltd., who, in association with Mr. Hugh Braga. has been responsible for the designs of most of the buildings in this area.

In our issue of July August 1949 we described the early development of this estate and reference to the site plan we published then will orientate the reader as to the position of the above building.
