There has recently been completed on Waterloo Road. at the junction of Argyle Street, the new Administration Building for the China Light & Power Co., Ltd., which

was built, together with two blocks of flats, on an area which forms part of the Garden City development of the Hong Kong Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. The style and design of all three buildings are the same.

although only the blocks of flats are owned by the latter company.

The Administration Building houses the administra- tion offices of the Power Company. Large general offices have been provided on ground and first floors for the Cashier's and Accountant's staff, while the General Mana- ger's and Assistant' offices are on the second floor. In

addition to offices on the ground floor, a large and attractive showroom where electrical house- hold and other appliances can be suitable dis- played is provided.

The general arrangement of the floor plan is roughly that of three rectangular areas with the side of each based on the triangular area in the centre of the building in which are placed the lift and main stairway with an open area providing light for the corriders leading where a pair of private offices and a subsidiary stair- way are located.
