View of the site from Middle Beach

Repulse Bay is considered to be one of the show spots in the Colony. Its beach, with the gentle, rolling contours of the green hills behind it, and facing an unrivalled seascape of island dotted waters, makes it one of the pleasantest spots in the world, and fortunate

indeed is the mortal who can build a home amidst its pleasant surroundings.

There was recently purchased jointly by Messrs. Concrete Products Ltd. and Eu Tong Sen Ltd. on the hillside slope on the northern arm of the bay, an area of ground containing about 160,000 sq. ft.

On the section reserved for Concrete Products Ltd., we understand that moderate sized private residential buildings will be erected. This section is being sub- divided and sold to private owners, but the planning and development will be done as one unit.

The illustration of this site, shown on the opposite page, was the artist's original conception for the development of this area. However, we understand that the original planning of the site had to be considerably modified and we are publishing this illustration only to point out the possibilities of the development and not

as an actual picture of what is actually to be built there.

In its way, the site is almost an ideal one for it faces south and east, thus getting the full benefit of the summer breezes while the sun setting behind the hills in the afternoon throws the site in shadow quite early in the afternoon. It is but a few minutes walk from the beach, it is within fifteen minutes by car from the central business district of Hong Kong, it is served by two bus lines and while being close to the Repulse Bay Hotel and the Lido, is sufficiently removed from it to preclude any possibility of annoyance from sounds of music and revelry.
