The estate, which has a site area of 497 acres and a population density of 1,610 persons per acre, consists of nine blocks each of six storeys. There are 768 Type A flats, each with a living. area of 246.40 sq.ft. for seven persons, and 492 Type B flats each of which has a living area of 179.60 sq.ft. for five persons. A section containing 23 shops and an office fronts Ma Tau Wei Road.

Total cost of the buildings, for which the Cheong Hing Co. were general contractors, was $7,200,000.

"Emu" submersible pumps were supplied by Dreyer and Co. Ltd.

Electrical wiring (three blocks.): The Jardine Engineering Corporation Ltd.

A primary school catering for 1,080 children in 24 classrooms, is an in- tegral part of the estate. The school is a reinforced brick frame build- ing with brick panel walls. It was erected in a site area of 20,393 sq.ft. at a cost of $852,000, and has six classrooms on the first floor, nine on the second and nine on the third. Recreation facilities have been gen. erously considered in the planning.
