The Canton Road scheme is on an even more ambitious scale, the extent of which is illustrated in the plan re- produced with this article.

In the Hollywood Road scheme 168 flats are provided for, whereas Canton Road 375 flats are provided, together with garages for
for police vehicles, and a recreation centre and children's playing area for locally en- listed Police below the rank of Sub- Inspector.
The flats, which are similar in every respect to those already erected in Hollywood Road, are contained in three main blocks running east and west, each eight storeys high with two storeys of flats over the garages which link up the main blocks on the Canton Road frontage.
The piling contract for this work has already been let to the Vibro Piling Co., Ltd. and work is in pro- gress. It is hoped to commence actual building work sometime in November as soon as piling is com- pleted.
These quarters are one of the big projects in the Hongkong Govern- ment's post-war housing scheme.
