The amenities of these apart- ments have been considerably en- hanced by the covered verandan with which each flat is provided on the side of the building facing the sea. On the ground floor the verandah extends practically the full width of the flat with French windows leading onto it from the living room and the two bedrooms on either side. Upstairs, the verandah is somewhat smaller. extending only the width of the living room but with access from the main bedroom as well.

The layout of the four and five roomed flats required a lot of plan- ning and the final arrangement. complicated as it was by the need to reverse the usual staircase position, resulted in the compact grouping of room areas and the utilization of every spare inch of space. A careful study of the plans will yield the best description of these flats.

In the 2-roomed flats doors open to both bedroom and living room from the entrance lobby which, although miniature in size, still includes a clothes closet. The living room is 13 ft. by 16 ft., with the kitchen adjoin- ing. The bedroom is of moderate proportions and has doors leading to a drying room and the bathroom. A driveway from South Bay Road leads directly to the entrance of each of the completed blocks and will also serve one of the contemplated smaller blocks. A second entrance drive, from Island Road, will later be form ed to give access to the other three projected blocks.
