all soil and water piping run and which eliminates the necessity of placing these unsightly fittings on the external walls of the building.
The servants quarters are placed in an annex which projects from the central part of the rear elevation, there being two servants' rooms for each flat. Usually the servants' annex is another unsightly feature which intrudes upon the harmony of the architectural design of the building but, here again, the architects have introduced a device which adds rather than detracts from the appearance of this very fine building, a reinforced concrete grilling
which is entirely open and allows free circulation of air in the servants' quarters; yet conceals this area from the public eye.
