G-COLUMNS.

Want to share the savings?

The world hasn't discovered G-Columns yet. But Japanese firms have.

And they're busily putting up high-rise structures at remarkable savings over their previous methods. And the word is getting around. Construction firms in Taiwan and Korea are crowing about their cost-cutting "discovery."

Kubota has long been casting iron pipes centrif- ugally. So we cast huge structural columns of low- carbon steel the same way. (Sounds simple, but it took years of painstaking research, testing and development... rewarded now with exclusive pa- tents in many countries.)

The centrifugal process for G-Columns eliminates casting defects such as blow holes, pin-holes and non-metallic inclusions. Wall thickness can be var- ied without changing outside diameter. Very thick walls are possible. Thickness can be varied locally for added strength and to permit protruded parts.

G-Columns are strong (tensile strength: 50kg/ mm2). The terminal of Japan's famed super train plus the country's new elevated expressways use G-Columns. They're performing beautifully in high- rise buildings in this country of frequent earth- quakes.

They require no major welding at the job site. They're round, pose no directional limitations. They're light, take less space. High rigidity of beam- column connections makes larger spans and fewer columns possible.

How much can you save? If G-Columns haven't been used in your part of the world yet, we don't know. But if you'd like to find out, contact our Pipe and Casting Export Department. Why should just a few companies enjoy all these benefits?
