PLANS COPIER
Rotolite's new Whiteprint copier uses ammonia vapour instead of liquid. It has a new circuitry and construction and is said to print twice as fast as the previous machine.
The copier includes push button controls, a reverse switch and an auto- matic starting lamp. An optional pump system eliminates ammonia handling and sends only the vapour into the machine, so there is no possibility of spill-over.
The machine will make prints up to 42 in. wide by any length. It is market- ed by Rotolite Sales Corporation, 328

LUMINOUS CEILING
A luminous ceiling louvre-diffuser system by United Lighting & Ceiling Corporation, 2828 Ford Street, Oak- land, California, USA, is self-support- ing and interlocking so as to provide even light diffusion over any area with- out light leaks. It can also be installed free floating without wall termination.
The system, trade-marked Light- Lok, requires no tee bars or metal grid support. Its all plastic, self-con- tained hanging and connector system cannot be seen from the floor and provides access to the lamp area from any point.
The ceiling is guaranteed against discolouration for 20 years. It is made

from 2ft. x 2ft. injection moulded panels with a patented overlapping feature. The panels are flat on the top side so that dust can be wiped off. On the room side, tangent lin. circular louvre cells provide shielding, giving the ceiling a comfortable low surface brightness.
FRAMING
A framing system for shelves, par- titioning and display units, which re- quires only a screwdriver for fixing, has been introduced under the name Square-lok. Designed to connect square and round tube of similar and differing sizes, it is easily dismantled after use.
The basic components of the sys- tems are 12ft. (3.658 m.) lengths of square-section 18g. m.s. tube in sizes of in., 1 in. and 11⁄4 in. (19, 25 and 32 mm.), and five types of connector, giving a choice of eight 2- to 6-way joints. The standard connector is a right-angled die-casting, each leg of which is surrounded by a plastic insert terminating in a square helix washer and pierced by a screw bolt.
One leg is inserted into the open end of each tube and the bolt screwed

into place, thus expanding the washer and insert against the tube walls. At- tachment of a self-locating cap com- pletes the joint.
Accessories include flat cheese- head and countersunk socket-head screws; castors, adjustable feet or per- manent base-fixing plates; black vinyl- covered shelves; and claddings, glazing clips and extrusions. Round and per- forated square tube is also available in
in., 1 in. and 14 in. diameters.
The perforated tube carries 4 in. (6.36 mm.) holes at 2 in. (51 mm.) centres and may be fitted with shelf brackets, blind anchor nuts, and lap- joint brackets which require only a screw for fixing, thus eliminating the connectors. The complete system, ex- cept for the shelves, is available with either a black stove-enamelled or an electro-galvanised finish.
The makers are Square Tube Sys- tems Ltd., Etruria Works, Mount Plea- sant, Bilston, Staffs., UK.
INTERCOM
Powered by a built-in 5.2V, mer- cury-cell battery, with a working life of two years under normal conditions, the transistorised Safon field telephone made by F.W.
