In the front face of this exten- sion which has been built on top of the original entrance porch, con- siderable use has been made of black-doloured anti-glare glass panels. This proved highly effec tive but a little difficult to get used to for work.

Accordingly, certain panels of the black glass. at the top of each storey, were replaced by clear glass. retaining the anti-glare provision but providing a nearer natural coloured light to work by. The ex- tension is fully air-conditioned and the internal partitions are non- structural to permit of later re-ar- rangement.

Contractors for the extension were Messrs. Kwok Kwai Construc- tion Co. of Jesselton, North Borneo, and the total cost of the extension was of the order of a quarter of a million Malayan dollars.
