study (13 feet by 14 feet), guests' cloak room, joss room, kitchen. two servants' rooms with attached bal- cony, and a large sitting out balcony (21 feet by 17 feet) with a roof over pierced by skylights.

Access to the bedroom floor below (eleventh floor) is by an aluminium staircase. There are four bedrooms (27 feet by 16 feet, 14 feet by 13 feet, 17 feet by 16 feet, and 13 feet by 16 feet) each with attached bath- room. The master bedroom has own balcony. In addition there are two servants' quarters.

Construction throughout is of re- inforced concrete. Brown mosaje tiles are used to face the whole of the exterior, broken hy green glass mosaic tiles for the verandahs. The staircase and lift well in the centre of the block is faced by a grille work of pierced white ceramic blocks. thus ensuring good ventilation.

On each side of this central grille is a line of hexagonal windows. forming a striking pattern against the quieter brown of the surround- ing walls. Access to the flats is by two passenger lifts.

Entrance to the foyer and lobby is through aluminium framed glass doors, outside which the ground is paved with vinyl tiles patterned in mosaic. The interior lobby floor is in glass mosaic and the walls in ceramic tiles.

Parking space works out at 1 cars for each flat.

Total cost of the building, not including land. is approximately $2,000,000 and the cost per cubic foot works out at $2.99 cents.

Architect for the block is Alfred V. Alvares, the consulting engineer is Charles Duff, B.Sc., A.M.I.C.E. and the general contractor Mei Hon Construction Co. Ltd. Other sub- contractors and suppliers include:
