American International Building is equipped with Singapore's First Centrifugal
Air Conditioning System
On each floor one multi-zone type air handling unit is installed
to supply cooled air via the air distribution system which is constructed with multi-supply return ductworks. These are automatically
controlled by pneumatic Grad-U-Stat motors installed for
each zone to ensure the highest degree of comfort to be maintained at all times irrespective of the changes of outside temperature. The pneumatic controllers are energised by two cental compressors fed with pre-treated air and are used in conjunction with an Electronic temperature indicating system. This arrangement enables the operator to note all the records of air conditioning of each zone on every floor instantaneously without leaving the machine room.
