The electrical installation was car- ried out in concealed conduit through- out the whole mill. The entire installation required more than a year to complete, as the machines were removed from the old premises in stages. More than 1500 lights and 1000 motors were installed in this period, the total connected hp. for motors being a little over 2800 and the lighting approximately 90 kw. About 200 hp. of air-conditioning equipment was installed at a later date. This operates on an automatic system by pneumatic control. The whole electrical work amounts to 6 lags.

The complete electrical system was designed and carried out by The British General Electric Co. Ltd., Hong Kong, a subsidiary of The General Electric Co. Ltd., of England. G.E.C. materials were installed throughout.
