The building is serviced "SCHINDLER" passenger lifts, two cap- able of carrying fourteen passengers and one, ten passengers, at the rate of 500

feet per minute. They are the latest type of lifts with fully automatic centre open- ing sliding doors. All lifts operate on the collective/selective type of control with attendant operation, but the smaller lift is also equipped for automatic night ser- vice.
In addition to the main lifts, there is a
smaller private lift operating between the ground and third floors. It is only large enough for three passengers, operating with automatic pushbutton control with- out attendant, and is meant to provide private service for the Bank and Assur- ance Co.'s Managers and Directors.
Gas service was installed for equipment as required by individual tenants. In ad- dition, a large gas operated incinerator, designed and built in the Gas Company's Workshops, has been fixed for the destruc- tion of confidential documents.
There is a mess hall for the staffs of the Bank and the Assurance Company, situated in the penthouse on the top floor of the building, photographs and description of which will be given in our next issue.
