The first class entrances will be in the exact centre of the front part of the building, and will give access to a large public hall, on each side of which will be a wide stairway lead- ing up to the first floor platforms from which will extend the ramps leading to the first class decks of the vessels. On the left hand side of the first class entrances will be a money-changer's kiosk, and the gen- eral and correspondence office of the Ferry Company, whilst on the right hand side there will be a newspaper klosk, a first-aid station and a taxi company's office. On the ground floor and off the main public hall will also be an enquiry counter and men's and ladies' lavatories, as well as four telephone booths and two big stores for the use of the Company.

The piers themselves, alongside which the vessels will berth, have been designed to permit the free flow of traffic during peak periods and provide for cool, spacious waiting rooms while the semi-circular ends of the piers will be enclosed for shelter. Additional men's and ladies lavatories have been included in the ends of these plers.

The ferry vessels will be able to berth at both sides of each of the pier arms, thus enabling four vessels to lie alongside at one time instead of two as at the existing piers.
