Оп the ground floor, there are three shops facing Kimberley Road, six shops on Nathan Road, and a billiard saloon with sufficient space for four full-size tables; this room has a separate entrance from a lane along the south boundary of the site, opening onto Nathan Road, and in- cludes in its design a small lounge fitted with a bar counter for the ser- ving of light refreshments.
On the first floor there is a ball- room, a restaurant with provision for dancing, a bar, and a small open air terrace connected to the cafeteria. Offices are situated on the second and third floors, and it is intended later to build a ballroom over the central part of the fourth floor.

The cinema seats 1,150 people the stalls, and 576 in the dress circle. Seating arrangements were designed to provide the utmost comfort, with air-cushioned "Bodyform" seats of a kind not seen before in the Colony.
A
mination in the auditorium is by cold cathode lights, which have a special dimmer to ensure smooth changes in intensity. The theatre is air-condi- tioned throughout.
A tall pylon on the Nathan Road side of the building carries the name of the cinema in English, surmounted by the Chinese characters, and both are finished in coloured Venetian mosaic.
Construction took approximately ed on the 10th December 1952 by Mrs. one year, and the building was open- Richard C. Lee in the presence of Sir Robert Ho Tung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hongkong
Kowloon and
Entertainment Co., Ltd., who own the new theatre. The architects were Messrs. Palmer and Turner.
The auditorium has a coloured cement floor, except for the gangways which have rubber tile floors; above the plywood dado, the walls are finished with the latest type of acoustic plaster. The stage has a teak floor, and at the proscenium opening there is a drop curtain of gold velvet in seven drapes. Illu-
