3. Sufficient air ventilation of the air space, e. g. air slots of minimum 1/4" x 2" in distance of 4' on the basis of the frame and in distance of 2" on the top of

the frame (chimney effect)

5. Space between frame and glass 0,2" on all sides

6. Mastic on both sizes of the SIGLA panel 0,12"

7. Each SIGLA panel put on two

The facade of a building should reflect the architect's good taste and desire for beauty, while it resists the build- ing's natural enemies, rain, wind and sun. The choice of a material that will serve this dual purpose is vital to the success of the architect's efforts.

SIGLA Spandrels combine, in a nearly perfect way, the features demanded by such a bulding element. Glass had been proven as a corrosionproof material since ancient times. Now, modern SIGLA safety glass provides the addi- tional factors of safety, exceptional strength, resistance to lyes, acids (except fluoric acid) and industrial exhaust fumes. Upkeep is minimal. The smooth, fire-polished sur- face is dirt- and dust-resistant, so that the spandrels are kept clean, to a great extent, by rain. Many creative possi- bilities are offered by the colorful tints. Since they are non-fading and weatherproof, atmospheric conditions cannot harm the color or cause peeling.
